Partners & Sister Groups

We have 2 sister groups:

• Ajax 4th Thames Ditton (Ajax) Sea Scouts are our neighbours at the Water Activity Centre, our partners in the RYA Centre and our closest friends in Scouting. The groups operate closely together.

• Karel Doorman Warspite has had a relationship with Karel Doorman Sea Scouts in Bergen Op Zoom; in the South of the Netherlands. The Groups are close, with international exchanges happening regularly; with our young people visiting Holland normally every 3 or 4 years; alongside visits from our Dutch Sea Scouts to the UK. The link gives us all a chance to understand the world wide family of Scouting in practice.

We also have 3 other organisations that we work closely with:

• London University Royal Navy Unit As one of the Royal Navy Recognised Sea Scout Groups, Warspite is partnered with with the London University Royal Navy Unit - the “ URNU. Our inspecting officer is the Commanding Officer of the unit, a regular serving officer. The unit is headquartered at HMS President in central London. As well as providing us with regular review; the Group works with the Unit on a number of training opportunities for both organisations. This has involved Warspite joining the URNU for RYA navigation and leadership training, whilst members of the Unit have joined Warspite for practical training in power boating.

• Teddington RNLI Our reach of the River Thames is covered by RNLI Teddington. We have been privileged to visit their centre on a number of occasions, as well as getting involved with fundraising for them.

• RLSS Surrey In 2021, Warspite registered as a Club with RLSS, the Royal Life Saving Society. Both organisations believe in safe water activities and the importance of first aid. We look forward to developing a close relationship with RLSS Surrey.
