On the Water Activities

Ever since the group was formed in 1931, Warspite has been synonomous with being on the water. The groups’s first boat - The Tern - was launched on the Hogsmill; but all of our boating since the 1930s has been on the Thames. Our Water Activity Centre

Our Water Activities include:

  • Kayaking
  • Paddleboarding
  • Sailing
  • Rowing (known as “Pulling” in Sea Scouting)
  • Open Canoeing
  • Powerboating

We are a RYA centre, meaning we deliver Nationally Recognised qualifications in Sailing and power boating; and are able to provide British Canoeing qualifications for paddlesports such as canoeing and kayaking. On the water we range from relaxed sessions to competitive regatta racing, from skills development to expeditions afloat.

And we don’t just start on the Thames. Our dinghy sailing takes us to the coast, our kayaking to mountain streams and our camping to new locations.
